Open mine in Moshira
The community of Moshira is complaining about the fact that their representatives who are the
the trust of the village, the Municipality/Mine is making decisions without consulting them as a
community.
This is especially true in the women’s sector as they are the ones who take care of the families.
I see women together talking about men at the gate who don’t want to hear women’s sides and
how they are feeling. They just believe that, on the fields of Moshira there is chrome and they
allow people to come.
While some say no we will farm and the leaders say they’ve made up a decision of selling the
land to miners.
The youth are crying about why the contractor doesn’t want them because they are the ones
who are struggling, there is a lack of jobs and they see people working there. As a youth, it will
save us from park-shop, and it will reduce unemployment and poverty too. They are still waiting
for the yes to clean the roads so that they can be there to build and start to provide tar
roads. Suddenly they will be seeing people, they’ll now say they might be hired because they
don’t know anything.

I am one of those who got a job, I just heard on the phone that get up and come to the
municipality and fill out the application form.
The advice I gave them is that they know about the danger of living near the mine, and they will
leave holes and they will never come back and rehabilitate. It will cause damage to the
community. The animals and children will drown in the hole also the land we need to farm there
and the future is in the soil.
