Marginalization pf people with disabilities still persist in Eswatini despite the enactment of the Persons With Disabilities Act of 2018. This is evident in the treatment that Samuel Shabangu (53) of Ngwempisi receives from his own siblings. Shabangu who is confined to a wheelchair, is wanted out of his family premises by three sisters. The sisters are married and stay at their matrimonial homes. They feel that Samuel has to find his space while they take charge of their family premises. However, Timothy Shabangu, who is a pastor and a younger brother in the family, holds a different view to that of his sisters as he feels that his elder brother should go nowhere. The sisters are said to have raised this because his wife despise them whenever they visit home. In an interview with the pastor, he felt that his sisters had no compassion and no right to gang up against Samuel and force him to face life and in the state that he was in. “As such I have approached the court for a peace binding session where I believe the matter will be deliberated and resolved,” the Pastor said.
