Poor waste management affects Tazara Market of Nothern Kasama

By Alick Sinkala

It’s already rainy season, the period characterised by cholera and other diseases. Tazara market has a lot of waste materials that are not managed properly which is a health risk to local people especially those that sell and buy from the same market. Being at the center, many people pass through and use the same market. My appeal is that the government should really work hand in hand with the market users to revise the means of proper waste management, otherwise the situation is getting worse. The council does not visit the market frequently to collect garbage hence the waste accumulates. Market users are looking forward to see the change at the market.
