It has been 2 years since Mvimbeni Dlamini received the keys to the local source of running water in Sigangeni in Eswatini. He was assigned with keeping the key to the gate that allows community members to access clean running water after a project brought running water to the community. What seemed to be a breakthrough for the community has brought challenges as Mvimbeni Dlamini has used this key to settle scores with people of Sigangeni. Members that aren’t in good books with Mr.Dlamini have had challenges at times to access water due to the fact that he will not grant you access, or have excuses time and time again. The community individuals find it hard to approach the gate keeper with their challenges since he was appointed to the position because of his relations with the Royal Family, therefore anyone seen not to approve his ways could be victimized. The members of Sigangeni community have come together and discussed possible solutions to the denied access their running water. The members want to appoint their own gate keeper, have a set time for water or each home stead should have one key that allows them access to the water.
