Statement of Solidarity from the Kairos Center to Abahlali baseMjondolo
Abahlali baseMjondolo, or AbM, is a shack-dwellers’ movement – the largest popular movement to have emerged in post-apartheid South Africa. They organise land occupations, builds community infrastructure such as halls, creches and gardens, run occupations as democratic communes, and campaigns for land and housing and against corruption, xenophobia, evictions and sexism.
